Mint Cleaning Robot: the Next-Gen House Cleaner

Now a day for keeping your house neat and clean, Maids and house cleaning devices like mobs and handheld vacuum cleaners etc have become out dated and technology is in. Now whenever you see or feel your house has become quite dirty, you dont need to do anything in rush, just sit back relaxed and to press the start button of this Mint. Yes, its just as simple as pressing a button because this “Mint” is the smart robot floor cleaner for keeping your house spotless.

Evolution Robotics have launched Mintcleaner, an automatic floor cleaner for busting out the dust from all the hard surfaces in your house like floors, tables etc. No need to worry about the tricky spots like corners, edges and places under furnitures because of the latest technology used in this robot enabling it to sense whenever it comes near a tricky spot. Just place a swiffer brand cloth and pledge on the underneath and just push the start button to allow it to start its work.

This compact machine uses the latest navigation technology in which a small separate NorthStar Beacon projector is kept. It releases infrared light spots on the ceiling that the robot detects and instead of moving in a random pattern, Mint knows the tracks where is has already cleaned. When the cleaning is complete the Mint returns its starting place and turns off to save batter until you asked for new place to clean.

It has already won the hearts of people and introduced at CES 2010 and now it will be soon released to win your hearts and keep your hearts up to date. If you want to know more information, then do visit the site and see how it works and you can even e-mail to know them about this product’s information.

You can see some more geeky gadgets like is also participating in CES 2010 like Jelfin ball shaped gel Mouse or you can see the home gadget likeHidden Wall Safe Socket too.

Extend to Contend
Welcome to the future of furniture design, where to be static is to be left sitting still! Born of a desire to question contemporary furniture design, this project by Aïssa Logerot called “Extensions” addresses the concept of multipurpose use and the desire for durability and quality. Products in this Extensions project are made in a non-fixed state, made to become whatever they need to be as the situation in which they are in changes!
Assembly first, right there next to concern for eco-design. Aïssa Logerot took into account packaging, transportation, storage, mounting, dismantling, and of course, mantling.
the heck out of the many simple designs made undeniably easy to understand and construct. And as stated, these are adjustable to the max, having many notches and thread adjustments on many different combinations of construction for the top of changeability!

Welcome To The Library
For someone who stares at a monitor for most part of the day, an e-book reader is not such a novelty. No matter how convenient it may be, but at the end of the day its still a screen! Can anything replace the smell of fresh, crisp paper? Alas, this is 2010 and the gadget-freaks are going to want more tech stuff, and this Library e-book Reading Device caters to their whims. It simulates actual page flipping (by rotating two mechanical rollers at the edge), features multi-touchscreen for bookmarks (no dog-ear pages!) that become visible when the book is closed.
While the Bookmarks are featured on the front page of the Library, the back hosts the index for all the loaded books. The system gets funkier with the “keyboard mode”, where it simulates a laptop, allowing you to browse though a virtual bookshelf and online stores.
From what I see, most e-books try and replicate the experience of reading traditional books. But from experience I can say, that its easier to throw a book at your lazy spouse, than an e-book; especially in a fit of rage!

Light Touch Projects 10” Touch Screen

The Greatest scientist of all time, Mr Albert Einstein was the first person to introduce the world with Laser beam and since then, different type of methods to use Lasers have been invented and successfully implemented but this Light Touch 10 Touch Screen is the latest of them all. Introducing the Light Touch which is based on a laser emitting projector which displays an interactive touch screen and the best part is that it can be displayed on any surface and at any light intensity as it projects colored images.

Turning any flat surface into a 10″ touch screen, this one is equipped with a new technology called holographic laser projection technology (HLP) which uses infrared sensing system which detects your touches and projects a screen size of WVGA with auto-focusing images and runs in Adobe Flash Lite 3.1 while supporting WiFi and connectivity through Bluetooth.

Being equipped with 2GB of onboard Flash memory and a Micro SD card slot which is supporting up to 32GB, this Light touch device is a new way of introduction and interaction between a consumer and the retailer as we can see those images of its usage in boutique and restaurant. Its running time is 2 hours before recharging is required. Light blue optics CEO, Mr. Chris Harris was really confident about its uses and bringing a new environment of technology even in shops and to introduce it to the world, its functionality will be show cased at CES 2010.

Incredible Humans: 10 Medical Oddities that Will Make Your Heads Spin

The process of growing from a few cells to a fully formed adult is a harrowing one, full of millions of years of evolutionary tricks that help us develop unscathed. Despite everything, there are still mistakes; one missing gene or chromosome, or one too many, and a child’s development can be skewed in a very odd way. It’s remarkable that human growth and development goes so smoothly, despite the numerous opportunities for errors. Here are 10 cases where things went wrong:

(Images via mentalfloss, fancast, miblogdecosasdivertidas, 82muchfood)
It’s pretty easy to assume your child will emerge with two fully formed legs, but sadly, this isn’t always the case. From one leg to four, there are scores of children with rare genetic defects, or people who have incorporated all or most of a twin into their own bodies. The most famous (and recent) example is Lakshmi, who was born with four arms and four legs, and thought by many to be a reincarnation of a Hindu goddess.

(Images via lifeinthefastlane, crazy pics, across the board)
Pituitary glands secrete hormones that tell our bodies to grow. When the gland secretes excessively, you have someone who grows as if they’re an adolescent well beyond puberty. Gigantism requires that a person’s height be several standard deviations above the tallest 1% of the population. Robert Wadlow, the tallest recorded man to ever live, was 8 ft. 11.1 inches tall at the time of his death at the age of 22, and his growth had given no indication of slowing down.

Ectrodactyly is a condition where digits or limbs are either fused or missing. Often called “Lobster Claw Syndrome” a lot of victims of this congenital defect have become sideshow performers, billing themselves with monikers such as “Lobster Boy.” The fused limbs can have surprising functionality in certain cases, but often require the use of a wheelchair.

Dede Koswara has an extremely rare genetic defect known as Epidermodysplasia Verruciformis that renders his body incapable of fighting off various strains of HPV, which is present in 80% of the world population. Dede has become an internet sensation, and is often described as half tree / half man. There have been several made for television documentaries about his condition and his attempts to treat it, but no treatment has been entirely successful.

There is a tribe of people living in Zimbabwe known as the Vadoma, that have become known as the “Ostritch People” for the prevalence of electrodactyly in their population. Many of the tribe members are born with fused toes that appear ostritch like. The tribe maintains a consistent population of such births due to their relative isolation. Those with this condition are not handicapped, and are well integrated into the tribe.

For When Earth’s on Mute
You know it happens sometimes. Someone gets a remote like in those sci-fi movies or Adam Sandler walks by and boom, you can’t hear a thing! It’s crap! So what do you do? You get ahold of Dan Carrillo. That guy will hook you up with a combo that cannot be beat for the sound-impared. The “Emmerse” system uses glasses, a wristband, and an itsy-bitsy clampable keyboard. Speak or see, type or view.
The glasses are where half of the magic happens. In them, you can see text of the person you’re conversing with, complete with tone (like if they’re totally pissed), and icons. The icons you see in the first picture below are these icons. Don’t get hit by a bus!
Then the keyboard: it’s like one of those click-bracelets that were hot fashion for kids in the 1990’s. On this you can type in what you’d like to say and it’ll be spoken aloud by the wristband in a voice derived from you, the user. Alternatively, the keyboard can display your text on it’s back, just incase you’re in the library.
I wish it also had sensors so I could target enemies and one extra accessory missile launcher that I could mount to the back of a truck.

18 Clever Christmas Trees Created With Recycled Materials
[ See more under Home & Garden or in the Art & Design category ]

Forward thinkers were some of the first environmentalists. Nowadays, most of us recycle. As always, one person’s trash is another person’s treasure. Some people are just more creative than others, while some folks are a bit bizarre. Before tossing out your trash, take a look at these 18 creative and clever Christmas trees made with recycled materials.
Christmas Trees Made of Recycled Bottles in Portugal

It’s a reoccurring theme to see trees made from recycled plastic bottles. In Caldas da Rainha, Portugal, these Christmas trees were created with discarded trash. The lights were strung as well as tinsel made from the bottle caps. Then these trees were proudly on display within the city.
Mt. Dew Tree

Curious what else you can do with approximately 400 Mountain Dew cans? Well the creator of this tree saved three months of soda drinking cans and spent four days constructing this Christmas tree. He used PVC pipe for the trunk, construction markers for the branches and drilled the pipe to fit the construction flags. The end result is quite striking.
Plastic Fork Tree

This tree was made from plastic forks. Even the star on top is made from pointy plastic utensils. Keep this in mind before you throw out those disposable forks and spoons. Finally, there may be something worthwhile to do with your sporks.
Postcard, Magazine, Book and Shredded Paper Trees

These Christmas trees have been created from postcards, magazines, books and even shredded paper. The top gift tree was created by cutting and folding postcards into gift boxes and then layered to form a tree. Too many magazines on your hands? The middle tree was constructed from hundreds of magazine face cutouts, folded and then arranged in a tree shape. If you like white Christmas trees, make use of your shredded papers. Another way to use magazines and books when you are done is to fold them into Christmas tree shapes like on the bottom right.
Aluminum Can Christmas Tree

The aluminum can has long been a recycled item. If you like shiny trees, however, consider chopping up those cans. This Christmas tree was constructed from sliced tops and bottoms of many cans.

Biological Photography: Magnificent Microscopic & Ultraminiature Photos
[ Filed under Art & Design or in the Animals & Habitats category ]

Ever wonder what a taste bud on your tongue looks like up close? How about the proboscis of a moth, the scales of a butterfly wing or the contents of a drop of pond water? Seen through a microscope and photographed, biological subjects from human, plant and animal sources reveal stunning colors and patterns, and a depth of detail you may not have imagined possible.
Human Sweat Gland

(image via: The Telegraph)
What do you see in this imagea head of lettuce? The inside of a rose? The reality is far less romantic, but that makes it all the more fascinating. Its a SEM (Scanning Electron Micrograph) of a human sweat pore, opening onto the surface of human skin.
Aquatic Fly Larvae

(image via: Fabrice Parais/ Nikon Small World Photo Micrography Competition)
It might look like some kind of bizarre horned creature, but this image actually shows the tail end of an Atherix ibis larvae. This aquatic fly, known colloquially as the watersnipe, lays its eggs in freshwater and looks decidedly less interesting as an adult.
Human Tongue Taste Bud

(image via: David Gregory & Debbie Marshall, Wellcome Images)
Tongues arent pretty, and taste buds are even less so. But all the same, its amazing to see these tiny receptors for the various flavorssalty, sour, bitter, sweet, spicy and savoryso close up. Butthese ugly biological wonders while you can if youre prone to male pattern baldness, because curiously, they tend to go bald as well, leading to loss of taste sensations.
Monarch Butterfly Wing

(image via: Micro.Magnet.FSU.edu)
Images in various scales of magnification show the vivid, iconic black, orange and white coloration of the Monarch butterflys wings. While most other butterfly species have scales that are jagged and heavily ridged, those of the Monarch are smooth and rounded.
Split End of Human Hair

Seeing how gnarly a split end of human hair looks when magnified many times over may just encourage people to trim their hair more often.
