Light Up Some Memory

Dedicated to Phillumeny, the Phillu is a matchbox shaped portable memory storage device with matchsticks that have 5 GB storage capacity. Nine sticks in the box, essentially translating to 45 GB collective capacity. The trick is that you really need to light the sticks to transfer the data.

To transfer data by sticks:

Push the case from behind to choose and pick an available stick. Put the stick head at the end of the striker.Strike the stick quickly along the striker adding pressure. Now the stick turns into burned black match, making it possible to give it to another Phillu owner to share your data without the need of any computer in between.Sharing your data with others will be completed after they plug in the stick to their own Phillu.

Designers Tip:
Do not let kids play with matches!

A Light, a Mobile, a Hanger

It, all of those, all of those together, they’re called “Lihamo!” Get it? It’s the first two letters of all those words together! Designer Cho Hyung Suk took a single piece of material and basically perforated it to create a tri-fecta! Dissembled, this project creates a hanging mobile – also a hanger system for clothing, and a giant lamp!

The lamp itself requires a bit of effort from a separate lighting source, but then again, you can just use it as a room divider too! And, and! Two two or three bits of furniture this creates ties the room together nicely!

Another quote by an iconic artist, Paul Rand, is brought to life through the power of graphic design. Design is the method of putting form and content together just as art, has multiple definitions there is no single definition. Can be art. Can be aesthetics. Is so simple, thats why its so complicated.

Graphic design is huge water-colour numbers on a poster. It is? Yes, it is. How so? Because I just designed it. Just as fine art can be anything you want it to be, graphic design is design purely because someone said so.
